The Comp-XM Competency Exam is a simulation like Capstone and Foundation where participants work alone. Comp-XM has four markets, unlike Capstone and Foundation. Every Comp-XM participant makes Andrews Company decisions. Instructors can assign Comp-XM during setup or during Capstone and Foundation simulations.
The Comp-XM Inquirer includes annual reports for all four firms, unlike the Capstone Courier and Foundation FastTrack. Many Comp-XM Board Query results require competing corporation reports, explaining this disparity.
Four businesses rival Comp-XM sensors. Participants run Andrews. They face Digby, Chester, and Baldwin. Four Comp-XM market segments exist. All Andrews Company decisions are made by participants. Andrews faces Baldwin, Chester, and Digby computer companies.
There are two main elements of the Comp-XM Final Exam. A simulation or decision part and a Board Query or multiple choice questions in the end.
Comp-XM simulates four rounds. Four choices are presented to participants. Each round decision shows one year of decisions and an annual report at the end. Everyone must make decisions for R&D, Marketing, Production, HR, TQM, and Finance in each cycle.
Balanced Scorecards assess simulation performance. The following performance indicators are used to score each round:
Business processes: internal, financial, customer, and learning and development.
The effectiveness of Rounds 1-4 is assessed with a fifth score after Round 4 utilizing new measures.
Participants also answer five multiple-choice Board Queries. The final test is the 5th board query. Since the questions are the same for everyone, exam results can be compared throughout the class, school, or Comp-XM customer base. The solutions are based on every simulation. This makes the questions similar but the answers different.
The Answer Board Query link opens new windows. By clicking I Agree, users confirm their authorization. The following page has questions on the left and directions on the right. Participants pick a question first.
The chosen question opens immediately. The Comp-XM Inquirer is needed for most queries. The Inquirer is linked in Board Query. Participants who chose the wrong option can modify their answers as needed. Participants can take a break and return later if Comp-XM is in Self-Paced mode and they do not advance to the next round or miss the round deadline.
